Huaraz, Santa Cruz Trek
This unforgettable Trekking is a journey through one of the most beautiful valleys of the White Mountain Range (Cordillera Blanca): Santa Cruz. During the trek there are views of spectacular Andean snow peaks such as Santa Cruz, Alpamayo, Taulliraju, Chacraraju, lagoons of intense turquoise like Jatuncocha (Big lagoon) and Ichicocha (Small Lagoon) and a quenoal forest, tree that grows only in the highlands.
Short itinerary Huaraz, Santa Cruz Trek:
Day 1: Huaraz – Vaqueria – Paria (3700 m. – 3800 m.)
Day 2: Paria – Taullipampa (3800m. 4750m. – 4200m.)
Day 3: Taullipampa – Llamacorral (4200 m. – 3850 m.)
Day 4: Llamacorral – Cashapampa – Huaraz ( 3850 m.- 3350 m.)
Note 1: It is possible to finish the trek in 3 days – trek changes only the itinerary of the third day.
Note 2: You can also do the trek in 5 days, adding In this option you will start with the full day Laguna 69 Trek. You will then sleep your first night in Cebollapampa.

Long trekking itinerary: T9. Vaquería – Santa Cruz Valley 4d/3n
Day 1: Huaraz - Vaqueria - Paria (3700 m. - 3800 m.)
Early in the morning pick up from your hotel (Picks up from 6:00 to 7:00 a.m.) and transfer to Vaquería located 4 hours northeast from Huaraz city in Conchucos area, to the other side of Llanganuco Valley and Portachuelo Pass. In Vaquería the donkey drivers are waiting for us to carry the load on the donkeys and start the amazing traverse to the cross of the Paria and Huaripampa Valleys where our first campsite is located at 3800 m. During the first day we will appreciate the impressive Taulliraju Peak (5830 m.) at the end of the Quebrada Huaripampa. Dinner and overnight at campsite accommodations.

Day 2: Paria - Taullipampa (3800m. 4750m. - 4200m.)
After breakfast we iniciate the ascent to the highest point of the trek at 4760 m in Punta Union Pass between Huaripampa and Santa Cruz Valleys. Reaching this point is an inestimable reward: a view of the Santa Cruz Valley surrounded by peaks of 6,000 meters, turquoise lagoons, the ideal place to take pictures. It takes from 5 to 7 hours to climb up to the pass and 1 to 2 hours to climb down to Taullipampa Campsite at 4,200 m, a plain at the feet of the impressive and steep Taulliraju Peak, scenery of colossal world climbing feats. Overnight and dinner at the campsite.

Day 3: Taullipampa - Llamacorral (4200 m. - 3850 m.)
Early in the morning after breakfast starts the descent to Llamacorral. The first stop is the fascinating view point where you can see the Aguja Peak, Caraz, Artesonraju, Alpamayo and Quitaraju. The walk down to Llamacorral takes about 4 to 6 hours. The name Taulliraju means purple, due to the flowers of this color that grow in the valley: The “Taulli” Flower. We continue descending passing the turquoise Hatun Cocha Lake (Big Lake) and Ichic cocha Lake (Small Lake). From there takes some minutes to arrive to the next campsite at 3800 m. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 4: Llamacorral - Cashapampa - Huaraz ( 3850 m.- 3350 m.)
The last day is an easy descent from 3 to 5 hours to Cashapampa appreciating the material of the huge avalanche of 2011. In Cashapampa town the transportation is waiting to take us back to Huaraz city. Huaraz is about 2 ½ hours from this location. In arrival to Huaraz transfers to your hotel or agency.
