Meet Roy, the Traveling Puma and official mascot of Fairtravel4u.
Roy the traveling Puma is named after the puma Roy whom I took care of when I worked as a volunteer at the Inti Wara Yassi animal refuge in Bolivia. Together with his brother he had been given as a gift from a student to a teacher who lived in an appartment. Luckily for Roy they were soon confiscated by the Bolivian police and given to Inti Wara Yassi to look after. Unfortunately Roy’s brother was (already) to weak and died soon after. But Roy survived and jus died a few years ago of old age.
When I started working with Roy he was about a year old and still acting as a teenager who liked to play with his caretakers. Because of Roy I stayed 8 months working as a volunteer with Inti Wara Yassi, instead of the planned 2 weeks. In these months I made several friends. Ultimately working with Roy and my time at Inti Wara Yassi led to voluntering with the animal refuge of Merazonia in Ecuador and working as a tour leader in Latin America.
The pictures below show Roys latest travel experiences in Ecuador and Peru. If you want to stay up-to-date with the travel experiences from Roy you can also follow him on Instagram at: Roythetravelingpuma.
